Jewellery must-haves from Fashion Week

Last week we saw the world’s fashion glitterati congregate in London for the irrepressible Fashion Week. Although fashion designers are showing what you will be wearing for spring 2020, the jewellery worn on the runway is often an exaggeration and an extension of what jewellery journalists and retailers are working on. The fact that the jewellery we are talking about continues to go forward and have a strong presence on both the runways and in the jewellery studios suggests that these are pieces that you might want to invest in and wear now or put on your wish list!

Bold statement chains

While they can be heavy and exaggerated for a stroll down the catwalk, in real life, they need to stand out without throwing your neck out or weighing down your wrist or your lobe.

Hoops

Just when it looked like hoops were running their course again (the go in and out of style more than any other style of jewellery)--they make a huge showing on the runway and both established and independent designers are still creating new incarnations.

Inspired by the seaside

Spring/summer 2020 looks to the sea and sand for inspiration with found objects mixed together in charm necklaces and bracelets and linear earrings.

Colourful jewellery

Forget sticking to gold and silver, designers brought on an explosion of colour for Spring 2020's jewellery. There were bright floral and beaded pieces everywhere, and we have to say we love the colour!

The Single Earring

This one may take a bit of guts to pull-off, but the word from fashion well is earrings are going solo next season. The single earring look dominated the Spring 2020 runways. The key to achieving this look? Go for an earring that's statement-making enough to stand on its own.

Oversized chains

Chains got bigger and bigger on the spring runways. There were giant sparkling versions (some complete with matching chain earrings) on the runway, while some layered oversized chain necklaces with beaded ones.
